Prof.Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay

Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay graduated at the top of his class from the Department of Mathematics at Middle East Technical University (METU) and earned his Master’s degree from METU’s Department of Computer Engineering. He holds dual doctoral degrees from Indiana University in the United States—one in Instructional Systems Technology and the other in Cognitive Science.

He served as the technical team leader of the METU-TÜBİTAK initiative that brought the Internet to Turkey in 1993. Between 2002 and 2022, he worked as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology at METU. From 2022 to 2025, he served as a faculty member in the Computer Science and Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Sabancı University. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Education at TED University.

According to a study conducted in 2021, he ranks among the top three most productive and influential researchers in the field of education in Turkey.

Prof. Dr. Çağıltay’s academic research interests include technology-enhanced learning, learning engineering, human-computer interaction, eye-tracking technologies, and virtual/augmented reality.
