HISAR SCHOOL - SCHOOL OF THOUGHT
Conference on "Collective Mind in Redesigning School"
Education and school systems worldwide face increasingly complex and rapidly evolving challenges and opportunities.
Disruptions such as digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and the climate crisis are compelling schools and teachers to rethink both the content and delivery of education.
Teachers are expected to take the lead in responding to these global and societal changes, solving problems, and driving transformation in education. However, we can achieve much more together:
Teachers possess a strong will to innovate and transform education through their individual efforts. Yet, real change can only occur when these efforts are supported by systemic solutions.
Sustainable transformation in education can only be achieved through collaborative approaches and tools tailored to teachers’ needs.
Technology and data-driven solutions are critical for enhancing teachers’ creative power and strengthening their leadership roles in education. Rapid and effective adoption of these solutions is essential for shaping the future of our education system.
Our Call to Action:
We must establish an ecosystem that elevates teachers’ individual efforts into systemic transformation. Collaboration, technology, data, and innovation are the cornerstones of building the future of education together.
If we equip teachers with collaboration strategies and tools that allow them to leverage diversity more effectively, integrate technology seamlessly, and empower one another, we can move beyond individual efforts to create an intelligent, interconnected, and mutually reinforcing ecosystem. This will pave the way for more effective, inclusive, and innovative educational models.
In recent years, the concept of Collective Mind has gained increasing importance in the field of social innovation. It highlights the value of collaboration between teachers, students, communities, and even technology to create more effective, sustainable, and inclusive learning environments. Collective Mind has immense potential in solving existing challenges in education, developing innovative approaches, and driving systemic transformations.
Utilizing Collective Mind in education offers a powerful promise: enhancing student success, empowering teachers, and integrating society into education on a broader scale. When applied as a problem-solving method, Collective Mind allows individuals to transcend their own limitations, forming a vast intellectual force that contributes to societal well-being.
This is precisely why we are launching the School of Thought—a space for all education stakeholders to come together, engage in dialogue, and co-create solutions. The School of Thought was born on the Hisar School campus as a meeting place for teachers and schools pioneering innovations and opportunities in education. It is a space for gathering, questioning, learning, growing, and producing. It is where ideas are born, nurtured, and brought to life. From Hisar School, it extends to benefit all educational communities across Turkey. It exists for all teachers and, ultimately, for all students.
Starting in 2025, Hisar School’ School of Thought will be an annual conference that explores different themes each year. This year’s theme, “Redesigning School Education by Collective Mind,” will serve as a learning and engagement space where teachers can discover, experience, create, and disseminate new approaches and tools.
Developed using Collective Mind methodologies since 2024, the School of Thought will take place on April 12, 2025, at the Hisar School campus and will focus on the central question:
“How can Collective Mind transform school education?”
Key Focus Areas:
- What is Collective Mind, and what does it promise for transformation and innovation in education?
- Why do we need Collective Mind and collective consciousness in education?
- Why is it valuable to address collective challenges in education with collective solutions?
- What is the Collective Mind Design Methodology, and how can it be applied to school education?
- How can schools and teachers leverage Collective Mind and collaborative strategies to develop more effective teaching solutions?
Conference Objectives:
The primary goal of the conference is to create a dynamic platform for educators, teachers, and school leaders to reimagine educational practices through Collective Mind. In an era where knowledge expands rapidly, our shared intelligence, experiences, and insights have never been more critical. This event will explore how collective approaches can enhance teaching methods, student engagement, and overall educational outcomes.
The conference will feature:

✔ Introduction to NESTA’s Collective Mind approaches and tools, from one of the world’s most prominent social innovation agencies.
✔ Workshops where teachers and education stakeholders will learn, experience, and create using Collective Mind problem-solving tools.
✔ Sessions sharing collective experiences from educators and institutions across Turkey and the world.
✔ A space for collective dialogue, questioning, debate, knowledge-sharing, and transformation.
Conference Outcomes:
This international gathering will produce key deliverables, including:
A Manifesto on Collective Mind in Education.
A toolkit for implementing Collective Mind approaches in school education.
