Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melis Cin is a faculty member in the Education and Social Justice program at Lancaster University, United Kingdom. Her research focuses on education, gender, and international development, exploring the sociological and political dimensions of education. Dr. Cin approaches the importance of education quality from a critical and feminist perspective.
Her work primarily concentrates on Sub-Saharan Africa, examining the social impact of education, how it addresses global challenges, and the social production of education in these regions. Additionally, her research is methodologically rooted in participatory arts, investigating the relationship between art and development.
