Prof. Dr. Kenan Çayır

Prof. Dr. Kenan Çayır is a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at Istanbul Bilgi University and the director of the Sociology and Education Studies Application and Research Center. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in the Department of Sociology at Boğaziçi University. He obtained his PhD from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University. He conducted post-doctoral studies at the Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights Education at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom and at the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research in Germany.

Dr. Çayır has participated in human rights education seminars organized jointly by the Council of Europe and EIP Slovenia, as well as in trainer training seminars by the Gürkaynak Citizenship Institute, earning certifications in this field. He has provided training for teachers and textbook authors in the History Foundation’s Human Rights in Textbooks Project. He also worked as an expert trainer in the “Thinking Power” teacher training project, jointly organized by the Ministry of National Education and the Education Reform Initiative.

Dr. Çayır currently works as a content consultant for the Teacher Network, collaborating with teachers in various cities across Turkey. His research focuses on inclusive education, citizenship education, intergroup relations, and discrimination.
